Judging Criteria
Creativity & Originality
How unique and innovative is your doodle? We're looking for fresh ideas and creative thinking that pushes the boundaries of what's possible in Doodle Mode.
*Only original work created in CADit after the contest start date is eligible
Technical Execution
Show us your skills! We're looking for clean execution and out of the box thinking using the Doodle Mode toolset.
*Designs must be primarily created using Doodle Mode, other CADit tools may be used alongside this.
Visual Impact
Create something out of the box. We'll be judging based on composition, aesthetics, and overall "cool" factor.
*Ensure your design uses at least 3 distinct layers.
Frequently Asked CADit Questions
Q: How do I export for printing?
A: Select the "three line menu" in the upper left corner and select "Export STL". Doodle Mode exports as a single, manifold STL file. For multi-color prints, use the "Pause at Height" feature in your slicer for multicolor prints without an AMS/CFS.
Q: Does CADit work on my iPad or Android tablet?
A: Yes! CADit is fully browser-based. You can use your mouse on a desktop or a stylus/finger on a tablet. "Doodle Mode" is especially fun on tablets!
Q: Can I export the layers separately for multi-color printing?
A: Currently, Doodle Mode exports as a single, manifold STL file. If you want to print in multiple colors using a single color printer, we recommend using "Pause at Height" (M0 command) in your slicer at the specific layer transitions.
Q: Is there a limit to how many layers I can stack?
A: Nope! Whether you want a simple 3-layer relief or a complex 50-layer "sculpture," the sky is the limit.
Q: Can I edit my doodle after I finish drawing?
A: Once a doodle session is finalized, the lines themselves are set. However, you still have full control to move, scale, or rotate the entire layer or the full model within the CADit workspace.
