Cookiecad Launches Social Impactive Initiative Cookiecad Cares
NYACK, NY, September 26, 2025 – Leading 3D printing filament and design company Cookiecad today announced the launch of a dedicated social impact initiative, Cookiecad Cares. The initiative will launch in partnership with three organizations that promote inclusivity in 3D printing: MakeGood, an innovative non-profit that creates custom assistive devices supporting individuals with special needs, disabilities, and chronic conditions; the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation, a charity established to find and assist those with neurodivergent minds to realize their potential through engineering and making; and the Controller Project, which supplies 3D-printed accessibility modifications to gamers.
Cookiecad Cares is launching with a commitment to donate 500 spools of filament to partners in 2025 and will significantly increase those donations in 2026. Additionally, it will promote these and other Cookiecad Cares partners at 3D and maker events, on its website and social media, and as part of its ongoing efforts to educate the 3D printing community about inclusivity and accessibility.
To apply to become a Cookiecad Cares partner, organizations must be a registered nonprofit, community-based group, or accredited school. For more information go to Cares.Cookiecad.com.
Cookiecad founders Nathan Apter and Melissa Kaye said: “We founded Cookiecad with the belief that 3D printing holds limitless possibilities to transform lives. From accessibility to education, we see it as a tool to solve real human challenges and unlock human potential. By democratizing manufacturing, 3D printing empowers people everywhere – not just engineers but teachers, moms, kids and hobbyists of all types – to innovate, create, and build with purpose. It enables individuals and communities to shape solutions that matter, leaving a lasting impact on their world.”
MakeGood Founder and Executive Director Noam Platt said: “Cookiecad is a wonderful partner and has already enabled the creation of several 3D printed kids mobility devices. They are leading the industry by showing that collaboration and generosity creates innovation for all. They also have the BEST colors that kids in our community love!”
Sanjay Mortimer Foundation CEO Teula Bradshaw said: "We’re delighted to partner with Cookiecad on this powerful inclusion initiative. At the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation, our mission is to support young neurodivergent makers through their early, often challenging years - building confidence, fostering creativity, and empowering them to thrive in industries they love. We believe our ‘SMF Stars’ are the innovators of the future, and 3D printing brings them immense joy. To now be able to offer them Cookiecad’s vibrant, sought-after filament is an incredible opportunity. Thank you to Nathan and Melissa - we are truly grateful for your generosity and vision."
Controller Project founder Caleb Kraft added: Too often, accessibility tools look medical and boring. CookieCAD filament simply makes these gaming accessories look AWESOME, as they should. The Controller Project has been supplying free controller modifications to gamers with disabilities for over 10 years, and we’re excited to partner with Cookiecad on this important initiative which will help us create more affordable and accessible solutions to gamers everywhere.”
MakeGood’s groundbreaking design lab produces innovative, adaptive devices to empower people of all abilities. MakeGood recently created a modular, fully 3D printed wheelchair for children ages 2 to 8 which has been printed using Cookiecad filament.
The Sanjay Mortimer Foundation (SMF) is a charity dedicated to supporting neurodivergent young people in the fields of engineering and STEM. It was founded following the tragic loss of Sanjay Mortimer, co-founder of E3D and a visionary in the world of 3D printing.
The Controller Project has been supplying 3D printed accessibility modifications to gamers in need for almost 15 years. With the assistance of a global volunteer network, it’s designed, 3D-printed and delivered modifications to gamers around the world.
Cookiecad will be introducing Cookiecad Cares at 3D Printopia in Bel Air, MD September 27-28.
